I have a twitter account. Got it when Corbyn became leader and most of the papers were taking a dump on his beardy head. Thought I'd see what he had to say. Through following The Local on twitter (swedish version) came into contact with @sweden where a new swede tweets every week. This week it was Nathan a welsh guy living in Malmö. He was new to the city and talking about food, walking, loppis (secondhand stuff) and general Malmö things. This I found very enjoyable. He even wrote about barasättaenkråka ('just gonna put a crow' or rather 'just gonna sign this'). A well known Malmö graffiti tag. So, anyways I replied to a thread (as we say on twitter) and said i'd happily show him n his partner the beauties of the proper countryside if he fancied. See if its a new pal in the making. Driivng driving driving. Dropped off the twins and Sandra as the red car is in for a fix. The silver car has been politely displaying a' 'Hey there, my p filter is low wanna top me up?' sign for a few days and today felt like it wasnt accelerating as normal. Mr google tells me, basically, I need a wrench monkey for this too. Sooo, I drive back and swap cars at lunchtime. Then drive in again. Its all to do with some fluid that helps burn off the nasty diesel particles. Whoop. Then I have a late lunch at Kyoto my favourite sushi place in Malmö on this street, Kalendegatan And, oh my, what a knockout day to knock off early. I wander about before meeting A n H to buy H a bike.
Aaaah. Later then expected but so well worth the wait. Had to come back home to pick up a dodgy tummy twin. Thus missing my well needed afterwork sauna. Manage to fix a date with The C-man for later. Drive back in.
We even managed to squeeze in a beer. Cord arrived breathless with Brompton in hand having speed cycled from S:t Knuts. We were on the ladies side as the gents is still being renovated. Fun watching C slowly unwind and relax, as I do the same. A cracking draw with lots of goals. The little ones turn three. And it starts early! I think Stellas in first slightly before 7 to remind Sandra that she was gonna get up early to sing for the girls. Sigh. Klara arrives bubbly as ususal, Astrid still asleep between us. Sandra sneaks off and returns singing with birthday brekky, candles flowers and Mormor. Astrisdsleeps through the first,” ja må hon leva” (happy birthday) So we do another one. Then its the start of the prezzie orgy!! A wrapped up box full with little prezzies for them. They start very carefully, hardly daring, then they get stuck in! By the end of the day they’re in present fever just wanting to rip into things. Waiting for the next hit. They get little kick bikes from us and once assembled we head out into the snow storm. Later the Hood descends in nearly all its glory and fine food is eaten. A superb frozen lemon cheesecake is the highlight for me. Lovely, cosy evening with our godson and his sister also there whilst his parents fly back from a weekend in Rome.
Klara has a little puke, too much sugar? But Astrid pushes on till dawn and comes down again afetr Klara falls asleep. A cracking birthday. |
