Writing this almost a year later, but i'm pretty sure Sweden was playing football on this day. There was some hunching under jackets.
In to Lund to meet Robs little boy Tim n wife Raffy before heading out in to the gay evening and the remnants of the Lund Pride festival. Tim was a real sweetie, but it was nice to get out for a beer has to be said. Rob's on good form, though perhaps a little anxious about his 50 minute upcoming stand up gig at the Lund Comedy Festival. 50 MIUNTES. That is quite a fucking while to stand and be funny.
As the author of a highly popular (thanks Jo) blog, I know its hard to deliver! Neat segway into the fact that i start my hols soon and will thus no longer have access to Aunty Malmos kindly computer. so this is very likely the last one for a while. I know, I know you will all (Jo!) be very sad to hear that. Anyways back to beers at Ariman. Rob is keen to start some kind of comedy night type thing in Lund which would be fun to help out with. Polish the microphone or make the popcorn. Micropop the phone polish. Whatever really. Lost my thread now. Bloody Andrews interupting my extremey important work. And just before the Sweden match too. Oh the stress of it all. Toodle pip!! Here she is in her red dress with best pal Maya listening to songs n speeches. Afterwards back to Genarp for swims and eveninbg barby. maya in tow. In July they're off to Malaga with M's parents.
Now this was quite a thing. A strawberry farm with a berry buffet. Depending what's ripe n ready you could be gorging on strawbs, raspberrys n blueberries. We're there quite early in the season and have to make do with just three different types of strawberries. But to go with it there's whipped cream, whipped raspberry cream, Mr. Whippy type ice cream, and the raspberry version. Normal vanilla ice cream and a lovingly displayed variety of toppings. Ooooo. Yer nuts n jams and choc sauces. Suits yoiú sir.
I go up at least three times. It really was heaven. Managed to get some yellow and blue into this shot. Very patriotic. Matriotic? Wonder what the gender neutral word would be. Hennyways. We had a pleasant evening grillin with some villagers last night and today we hit the beach at Nybrostrand outside Ystad. Newbridgebeach is where Lotta and Stoffe now reside. And its just a 5min walk through a tunnel under the road to the sand. Awesome.
Some very happy sand digging splashing and swimming chidren. ![]() The heatwave continues superb and unabated. A hot ride in the car, less than 2 hours so they can handle it. But wouldnt have done it when they were babies. No AC in either of our Peugeot cars and they'd apparently have to take out the engine to fix it. But what bliss then to sink down into Mats lake. Oh my. Delicious, with cold and warm swirls in the water. you find a warm one and float. We arrive to find Mats on his ipad next to a dog in his woodshed. After a quick sarnie its Laketime. Sandra is doing a Kempo camp back in Skåneland, and then hitting town with the Hood. These pics are from the second, evening, dip. Some games were played and burgers eaten in between. I love being at Mats place. Its instant holiday feeling. He is a fantastic host. Relaxed, generous and entertaing.
Its a lovely old house with a separate guest house and a big ol' barn. We wander back up with Ester a neighbours dog and tuck into some ice cream. Which is the name of the Ruby Wax book that i recently bought on ebay. The lovely Dominic will bring it with him when he visits for Midsommar. Looking forward to that (and reading the book). Its all about mindfullness and its a conversation with Ruby, a Tibetan buddhist monk and a neurosurgeon. What does mindfullness or meditation do for the mind and why is it a good thing.
Anyways the monk is called Thubten. He's English and i think i read somewhere that his mum acted in Goodness Gracious Me on the Beeb. He has a good voice to listen to and I found this www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vTviVkFJzM on yer Youtube. I havent watched it, I just stick it on the headphones when I'm cycling at work. I like his explanation and he has a good voice. That is all. |
