Lovely light

27/9/2018

Took the wee ones for a mini ramble in the woods after dagis. The Four Bridge walk is perfect. Exciting (going over bridges) variety, and relatively short for small people. They loves it, plenty of running about and a bit of the falling over too.

Melting Pot

25/9/2018

Robs' fledgling attempts to get a comedy night going for english speaking types in Lund is coming along nicely. This was the second and follows on from his succesful turn at the Lund Comedy Festival. The Robster was sadly stricken with an evil stomach related mancold and was unable to attend. I beefed up, swallowed a few steroids and did the door. This involved drawing numbers on peoples wrists. We're in the back rooms of Arimans ( a great little bar in the shadow of the Catheral.)
Kahled did the compere duties in place of Rob, very professional i thought.  He's the big fella in the middle pic, flanked by a Bostonian swedish teacher, a lesbian comedian and someone with quite big hair. The last pic shows a frenchman reading his very dry haikus for the crowd.

Curry with Cord

21/9/2018

At Kontrast in Möllevångstorget. Warm enough to sit outside and almost October. Cord brings half the office with him and only one swede amongst them! A quick walk around the market afterwards with canterelles fo sale (not as nice as the ones we find). Then off to Impala Möllan to look at their nice stuff before back to work A.G.AIN

In the land of games and 'shrooms

17/9/2018

Hanna and I bombed up the E6 on friday afternoon arriving to a reception of chickens. Mats was a few minutes away returning from Halmstad with vital weekend items. We made ourselves at home and perked the fire up. Thus began a relaxed and successful weekend. The wants and needs of the previous week quickly forgotten.
Dinner was a Swedish/Indian mash up (Swindian, Indish?) of deep fried chicken with delicately flavoured basmati rice and a great selection of pickles. Mats was frying out in the wood shed, as you do, and it was raining, hence the hat. We played a lot of Port Royal, a fine card turning game. Requires a bit of strategy, luck and nerve.
Saturday kept us inside a while with all the rain. What to do in a warm stuga with the fire crackling in the background, your oldest daughter and a best buddy who happens to have hundreds of board games. Well, we entertained ourselves a treat. And then headed out to our spot in the woods and found plenty. Karl Johan, Brunsopp, Kanterells and Trattkanterell.  In englishKing Bolete, Ceps (or Penny buns). Bay Bolete, Canterell and Winter Canterell. I love it. Like treasure hunting for adults. And I like to think that I have a bit of a nose for it. For finding them. Probably everyone thinks that.
There were quite a few out and about looking and Simlångsdalen was bustling with a market which we had a quick peak at. I noticed a paleo stall, didnt stop, but goggled later. Someone with a smallholding, doing courses in food and yoga n running. They'd returned from careers in London to a more peaceful life in t countryside.
On sunday we had a leg strtecher which proved highly productive. More Shrooms, enough for tasty omlette. With the freshest of eggs of course.

No, I dont know why the pics no longer stand up straight by themselves. Imagine if i could interact with my computer like someone who knows what they're doing. Imagine the things I could do!

Grrrls

Looking for frogs down by the pond at the former shooting range.

Tough weekend

8/9/2018

Everyone a bit coldy. Bit rainy outside not a lot happening. Feeling a bit trapped and really just want to be alone and hide under the duvet. But still have 3 young kids to look after.
Thank goodness Mormor (granny) is there on friday night and in to saturday afternoon to help out. We survive. We also vote in the elections. It's going to be close and as a non swede (despite applying in november 2016!) I'm only allowed to vote in the council and regional elections.

No Shwooms
