I arrive a little late. Having had a long day with 4 small characters yesterday. This was a superb move on my part i feel. Cuddle kids. Hoover up some of the tasty smörgåtårta (nice n prawny) with a cool glass of white wine. Then down to the beach for some fun with kids. Back for BBQ. Smashin!
Fabulous weather and lots to see. Some of it was really quite funny. Its was nicely interactive. First you watch a show, 'Pippi and the pirates' for instance. Then the kids dash in and crawl all over the set and say hi to the actors. Lots of hugs, the prime minister made sure he got one too from Pippis dad. There was a lovely spontaneous moment after one of the shows. The audience was cooling down in a stream that runs through in front of the fort and the actors were there chatting. They slowly moved back inside the fort and then began their chant-singing thing again. It was great. The look on the kids faces hearing the power close up!
If you look closely at the pic of the last show you'll see a pretty realistic dragon uptonogood behind the rocks. We get to the nice, cool stuga just in time to settle down and watch a bit of Sweden beat Switzerland and England beat Columbia (on penalties! Thank you lord). It's a cosy place, firmly nestled in the seventies with a nice big veranda on one side where we can sit and BBQ. We need shopping so me and Stella head in to fix. Pass a bar when Sweden score the winning goal to happy roars. Hot as hell in the car going up. No A/C and filled to the brim with stuff n kids. Stopped at a hellhole MacD's (hot car park, very full with a long queue.) Blah. But all worth it for the next coupla days. The wee ones had a riot seeing stories from books n film come to life in front of them. But first a stuga tour with Astrid: And as theme parks go it was pretty damn good. Loads of places to rest up and cool down. Merchandise wasn't pushed down our necks, in fact we bought nothing except coffee and ice cream. Both days ended with a refreshing dip in Nossen, a nearby nose-sounding lake. Writing this almost a year later, but i'm pretty sure Sweden was playing football on this day. There was some hunching under jackets.
In to Lund to meet Robs little boy Tim n wife Raffy before heading out in to the gay evening and the remnants of the Lund Pride festival. Tim was a real sweetie, but it was nice to get out for a beer has to be said. Rob's on good form, though perhaps a little anxious about his 50 minute upcoming stand up gig at the Lund Comedy Festival. 50 MIUNTES. That is quite a fucking while to stand and be funny.
As the author of a highly popular (thanks Jo) blog, I know its hard to deliver! Neat segway into the fact that i start my hols soon and will thus no longer have access to Aunty Malmos kindly computer. so this is very likely the last one for a while. I know, I know you will all (Jo!) be very sad to hear that. Anyways back to beers at Ariman. Rob is keen to start some kind of comedy night type thing in Lund which would be fun to help out with. Polish the microphone or make the popcorn. Micropop the phone polish. Whatever really. Lost my thread now. Bloody Andrews interupting my extremey important work. And just before the Sweden match too. Oh the stress of it all. Toodle pip!! Here she is in her red dress with best pal Maya listening to songs n speeches. Afterwards back to Genarp for swims and eveninbg barby. maya in tow. In July they're off to Malaga with M's parents.
Now this was quite a thing. A strawberry farm with a berry buffet. Depending what's ripe n ready you could be gorging on strawbs, raspberrys n blueberries. We're there quite early in the season and have to make do with just three different types of strawberries. But to go with it there's whipped cream, whipped raspberry cream, Mr. Whippy type ice cream, and the raspberry version. Normal vanilla ice cream and a lovingly displayed variety of toppings. Ooooo. Yer nuts n jams and choc sauces. Suits yoiú sir.
I go up at least three times. It really was heaven. Managed to get some yellow and blue into this shot. Very patriotic. Matriotic? Wonder what the gender neutral word would be. Hennyways. We had a pleasant evening grillin with some villagers last night and today we hit the beach at Nybrostrand outside Ystad. Newbridgebeach is where Lotta and Stoffe now reside. And its just a 5min walk through a tunnel under the road to the sand. Awesome.
Some very happy sand digging splashing and swimming chidren. |
