So, as part of my ongoing techniques for coping with the swedish winter I have begun to do mindfulness training. Fitness training for the mind if you like. For my bod I already have my walking, cycling, kempo, sauna and rowing machine for when its just too awful outside. And a lot of these are good for my brainium also of course.
But this is specifically for my mind.Regularity and patience is the key apparently. I've started with 5 minutes a day. Samten is a free app to help me get started. I found it through my journey into podcasts that started this year. Found one with Ruby Wax talking about her book, 'How to be Human'. Bought the book on ebay (Dom brought it over, thanks mate). Its quite interesting, talks about mindfulness. Has both a monk and a neuroscientist to explain their angles. The monk, Thubten, has the app. He has a good voice and seems like an all round nice guy.
